The original wet-clutch DSG, fitted to mid-to-high torque applications (up to 350 Nm) including Golf GTI, Golf GTD, Passat 2.0 TDI, Audi TT, and Octavia vRS. Uses multi-plate clutches submerged in transmission fluid requiring 40,000-mile fluid renewals.
DQ381 & DQ500 (7-Speed Wet Clutch)
Modern high-torque 7-speed wet-clutch units. The DQ381 is fitted to later MQB platform models (Golf R, Audi S3, Tiguan), while the heavy-duty DQ500 handles high-power applications (Audi RS3, VW Transporter T5/T6).
