- Pedal has zero resistance:: The pedal offers no push-back and drops directly to the floor mat under minimal foot pressure.
- Unable to select any gear with engine running:: Because the clutch cannot disengage, the gear stick feels completely blocked or grinds violently when attempting to select 1st or reverse.
- Pedal returns only when pulled up by hand/foot:: You can hook your toe under the pedal to lift it, but it drops straight back down the next time it is pressed.
- Fluid dampness in the footwell or under engine:: Brake/clutch hydraulic fluid visible dripping down the clutch pedal arm inside the cabin or pooling underneath the engine bellhousing.

2. Failed Clutch Master Cylinder

Mounted directly behind the clutch pedal in the cabin or bulkhead. If the master cylinder internal piston seal wears out or bypasses fluid, pressure cannot be sent to the slave cylinder.
3. Broken Clutch Release Arm or Pivot Pin

On external slave cylinder setups, the mechanical steel release fork or pivot pin inside the bellhousing can fracture under heavy clutch spring pressure, leaving the pedal with nothing to push against.
